Boredom

Today was the first time in three days I seriously played Survival mode. The village tower has been a stumbling block for me for a while. I tried working on it some and got the skeleton of the bottom floor figured out. I almost gave up because I couldn't get the outline of the second level to get centered. Then I realized it was because I was choosing a bad spot to start at. Eventually I got the issue sorted.

Yet at this point the project has been more trouble than it's worth, so I think I'm going to put it on the backburner. There are more interesting things I could be doing, the village tower and associated buildings aren't really holding my attention.

Actually to be honest, Minecraft itself hasn't been holding my attention as of late. I suppose that after 2.5 years of the game, it's starting to get boring. The game itself has improved greatly, and so have I. But maybe the routine of breaking blocks and placing them elsewhere has lost its appeal. One of the things that has been bothering me is how I see others make elegant builds, and here I am still trying to make anything half-decent. I want to share my stuff, but so often it feels like there's nobody that wants to look at it. Perhaps I need to take a break from the game for a while (or if drastic measures need to be taken, permanently) and find other things, maybe another game, to occupy my mind. A few people have suggested I look into the Feed the Beast mod. I might do that.

But right now I'm bored with Minecraft.
